The Brentwood community can sigh relief as a suspect has been nabbed for the recent burglaries at Isaac Montanez Elementary School. This newly inaugurated educational institution fell prey to break-ins not once but twice, with incidents dated October 7 and November 18 of the previous year.

Utilizing the school's video surveillance systems, Brentwood's finest detectives isolated images of the perpetrator and the vehicle believed to be at the crime scenes. Compiling these digital images led authorities to a decisive break in the case. According to the City of Brentwood Police Department, their diligence made it possible to pinpoint the suspect and his ride's make and model involved in the elementary school burglaries.

On Tuesday, the Antioch Police Department carried out a traffic stop that halted the flow of Brian Thomas's daily routine. The 46-year-old Oakley resident found himself swiftly detained after his vehicle was matched to the descriptions from the prior break-ins. The Brentwood detectives on the scene engaged Thomas in a careful interrogation that ended with his arrest for both instances of burglary at the Montanez school.

Delving into Thomas's vehicle, the detectives discovered an arsenal of burglary tools and a variety of keys, turning his car into a tangible extension of his alleged crimes. The vehicle was impounded as vital evidence in the ongoing investigation.

Officers escorted him to the Martinez Detention Facility, where he was processed and booked on multiple charges connected to the elementary school break-ins.
