A 26-year-old man became the victim of an abrupt and violent altercation in the Colina Del Sol neighborhood, according to the San Diego Police Department's Watch Commander's log. The incident, which took place in the east alley of 4300 51st St., was reported to have occurred at approximately 11:08 AM yesterday. The victim was engaged in a confrontation that ended with him sustaining a stab wound to his upper back.
Officer D. O'Brien, the SDPD Watch Commander, noted the assailant fled the scene post-haste, leaving limited information for law enforcement to work with. Standing in the alley, the victim was unable to describe the suspect as the unexpected attack unfolded. He was subsequently transported to a local hospital, where, thankfully, his injuries were deemed non-life-threatening.
The Mid City Division is actively handling the investigation, reaching out for any leads or eyewitness accounts that could illuminate the circumstances leading up to the stabbing.
