In a recent incident at the intersection of 39th and El Camino in San Mateo, local law enforcement and hazmat teams were called to the scene where a person was found potentially under the influence of narcotics, leading to the discovery of suspected Fentanyl on the sidewalk.
According to the San Mateo Police Department's social media post, officers provided aid upon arrival. They promptly assessed the situation and called the San Mateo County Fire Department to handle the hazardous materials.
To ensure community safety, the hazmat protocol was activated. Authorities assured the public that the potential danger had been effectively dealt with, confirmed by the San Mateo Police Department statement that the area "is now safe."
