Larry Beall Jr. faced the weight of a 13-year sentence yesterday for a series of actions, including arson and engaging in a dangerous confrontation with the Tallmadge police. As reported by FOX8, Beall received a sentence of 9 years and 9 months for arson and pointing a gun at law enforcement, which will be served after a 3-year term for separate charges.

These events unfolded back in June 2023 when Beall allegedly set his home ablaze after moving out many items, as corroborated by the presence of an accelerant, and then led police on a 25-mile chase through multiple counties. During the pursuit, he pointed a gun at police officers, which resulted in shots being fired and his eventual arrest after a standoff involving the Canton Regional SWAT team. According to the WKYC, Beall was indicted by a Summit County grand jury on various charges, including aggravated arson and felonious assault with a firearm specification.

In statements obtained by Cleveland19, Beall entered a no-contest plea to one count of Aggravated Arson and submitted Alford pleas for other charges, including felonious assault of a law enforcement officer.

The Summit County Prosecutor's Office has placed Beall on the Ohio Arson Registry, a lifelong requirement to register annually with his local sheriff. Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich commended the officers involved in the case, declaring, "This is just another reminder of the sacrifices our law enforcement officers make every time they step into the line of duty." as quoted by WKYC.
