
Tragedy struck Chicago's Pullman neighborhood on a Sunday afternoon when gun violence claimed the life of a teenager and left two others wounded. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, a 17-year-old was pronounced dead after the shooting, which occurred inside a residence on the 13100 block of South Corliss Avenue around 12:10 p.m. The names of the victims have not been released, but the Chicago Police have confirmed that Makai Rodriguez, a 16-year-old boy, sustained nine gunshot wounds and was later pronounced dead at Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
The same incident left two other teenage boys with bullet wounds. The 17-year-old, shot eight times, is battling life-threatening injuries, while the 18-year-old, who was injured in the right arm, is in good condition; both were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center.
An investigation is underway as authorities seek to piece together the sequence of events leading to this grim outcome. A person of interest has already been taken in for questioning, but there have been no updates on whether charges have been filed.
