On Monday, around 4:30 p.m., a grey Honda Civic was pulled over by the local police on Highway 29 due to an expired registration and the occupants' non-compliance with seatbelt laws. The routine check escalated when officers found that each of the three adult male passengers was armed with a loaded weapon, igniting a more grave concern.
The individuals identified as Demetrius Perry, 23, from Vallejo, Josiah Boyd-Vaughn, 19, also from Vallejo, and Matthew Behnamia, 26, from Fairfield, faced immediate arrest after the initial search. The police revealed that the trio's arsenal comprised a Bohnmische Waffenfabrik FNH, a Polymer80, and a Glock 45, as per the City of American Canyon's police report.
Subsequent inquiries pointed to more incriminating evidence, as Boyd-Vaughn was found to have an outstanding warrant from Solano County related to a prior robbery charge. Following these findings, the authorities have filed multiple felony charges against Perry, Boyd-Vaughn, and Behnamia. After the arrest, the Napa County Jail became the temporary residence for the accused men.
