In a heartrending update from Midtown, the 7-year-old girl, who was discovered unresponsive in a hotel pool, has passed away. Just four days ago, the child was found at the Element Hotel located on the 3700 block of Forest Park Ave, prompting immediate medical attention and an urgent dispatch of District 4 officers to the scene around 8:30 PM on Saturday, as confirmed by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
Following the distressing discovery by hotel staff, the young girl was quickly transported to a nearby hospital. There, she fought for her life in a state the medical staffers described as critical and unstable. According to a statement from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, Child Abuse detectives were investigating the incident, initially regarded as an 'accidental injury.'
Regrettably, despite the efforts of the healthcare professionals tasked with her care, the child succumbed to the complications arising from this tragic accident. The latest update fails to provide further details on the circumstances leading up to or following the incident. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department are yet to release additional updates as they continue to piece together how the event unfolded on that fateful evening.
