Attention Joplin drivers: Lane closures will occur on I-44 this week for bridge repairs. The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has announced road work on the Westbound I-44/Missouri Route 43 (Hearnes Boulevard) bridge.
The repairs will reduce lanes during the night. Tonight until tomorrow, there will be lane reductions from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the next morning at Mile Marker 6. All lanes will reopen during the day, and eastbound traffic will not be affected.
During the work, there will be no signed detour. Signs and message boards are placed to notify drivers. While traffic impacts are expected to be moderate, using an alternate route could help avoid delays.
