A serious two-vehicle collision last week has left two people dead, according to the Lake Havasu City Police Department. Last Thursday, during the early afternoon hours, a black Dodge truck and a semi-truck with a trailer were involved in a head-on crash that led to a tragic outcome. The incident took place on State Route 95 near Dub Campbell Parkway, mile marker 176. Responding to the grim scene, officers found that the individuals in the Dodge did not survive.

The Lake Havasu City website has reported that for still unclear reasons, the Dodge departed from its designated southbound lane on SR 95, only to re-enter the road in the path of northbound traffic. The semi-truck, unable to avoid the sudden reappearance of the Dodge, collided head-on with the smaller vehicle. Driving behind the semi, a third vehicle managed to swerve off the road, narrowly escaping involvement in the collision.

While no other injuries were reported, the driver of the semi-truck was transported to the hospital with injuries that were described as non-life-threatening. As the investigation into the crash continues, law enforcement is working to piece together the events that culminated in this fatal encounter. Officials have yet to release the names of the deceased, pending notification of their families.

The Lake Havasu City Police are not yet positing the factors that contributed to the crash. "The cause of the crash, along with any contributing factors, remains under investigation," Sergeant Kyle Ridgway reported. It is anticipated that more details will emerge as authorities delve deeper into the circumstances of this tragedy, as per the city's official website.
