
Two men have been detained and subsequently released in Phoenix following a fatal shooting incident late Tuesday night. As per reports from FOX 10 Phoenix, the confrontation occurred around 10:30 p.m. near 21st Avenue and Bethany Home Road. The victim, a man in his early 30s, was discovered by police officers in an alley, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
After the incident, two men emerged from a nearby home to voluntarily approach the police, claiming to have been involved in the shooting. One of the men explained that he had to quickly take action in defense of a relative after the victim purportedly threw a rock at them, as reported by AZ Family.
Phoenix Police Department's Sergeant Phil Krynsky provided a statement to FOX 10 Phoenix, clarifying that "Officers were able to locate and detain a man, on scene, believed to be involved in the shooting. Detectives are currently investigating." However, the detained individuals were released from custody and are awaiting the decision on charges pending the completion of the investigation.
