
On Monday, a fire in the eastern Las Vegas Valley destroyed a mobile home and resulted in two people being hospitalized for smoke inhalation. The Clark County Fire Department reported that the blaze engulfed the residence just after 1 a.m. on N. Gateway Road, as 8 News Now reported.
"An engine arrived around 1:11 a.m. and the mobile home on fire," detailed Clark County Assistant Fire Chief Brian O'Neal, in an email obtained by News 3 LV. Responders quickly treated three individuals on the scene, with two necessitating a trip to the University Medical Center.
The emergency teams from North Las Vegas Fire and Las Vegas Fire & Rescue joined forces due to the location of the incident. While battling the significant flames, "crews attacked from outside and then entered to finish extinguishing the fire and search the area," stated O'Neal, in a report by News 3 LV. In spite of the intensity of the fire, no firefighters sustained injuries during the response. The condition of the hospitalized individuals has not been disclosed.
Investigators have not yet determined the cause of the fire. The estimated damage to the property ranges from $50,000 to $100,000.
