The U.S. Marshals Service has concluded the search for an attempted murder suspect, taking 18-year-old Terrecus Hamilton into custody in Jackson, TN. According to a statement released by the USMS, Hamilton was wanted by local authorities for first degree attempted murder and three counts of aggravated assault following a December 26 incident.

Hailed from the dark of night on December 26, 2024, around 1:00 a.m., Bolivar police responded to gunfire at the intersection of Water Street and Jefferson Street. After a vehicle with four people was struck by gunfire which resulted in the injury of the male driver, he was then airlifted to a hospital in Memphis for treatment. Hamilton was identified by Bolivar Investigators as a suspect shortly after, leading to arrest warrants issued on January 2.

It was on Tuesday that deputy marshals and task force officers traced Hamilton to a residence on Coach Drive in Jackson. A brief standoff ensued, resolving when Hamilton chose to surrender to the marshals. His surrender allowed for the arrest to be effected without further incident, and Hamilton was transported to the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex, fraught with holds for Bolivar.

After Hamilton had surrendered, members of the Jackson Police Department converged on the scene, where they executed a search of the residence. Found within were two handguns — one reported stolen — and a shotgun. On the heels of the arrest, no more details have emerged about the investigation or Hamilton's imminent legal proceedings.
