An incident involving an unhoused man, who was identified as the suspect in a sexual battery case on a SamTrans bus in South San Francisco, has concluded with his arrest. The South San Francisco Police Department reported that the incident occurred on December 14, 2024. It began on the bus and continued on the sidewalk after the victim and suspect disembarked. The 22-year-old man fled after a bystander intervened, according to a social media post by the South San Francisco Police Department.
Officers' and detectives' investigative efforts led to the identification of the suspect, with the South San Francisco Police Department securing an arrest warrant in the case. Subsequently, the San Francisco Police Department apprehended the individual during an unrelated investigation on Tuesday. This ultimately led to the suspect being booked into the San Mateo County Jail.
