
The Chicago Police Department has issued a missing person alert for 68-year-old Walter Powell, who was last contacted on January 14. Powell is reportedly missing from the area, typically frequenting the vicinities of 11000 S. King and 10900 S. Wabash.
Concerns rapidly mount for Walter Powell, who stands at 6 feet 2 inches and weighs approximately 230 pounds. He is identified as a Black male with a medium brown complexion, brown eyes, and bald/grey hair. Notably, Powell carries distinguishing marks, including a scar under his right eye, and is missing two of his top teeth. Residents and passersby are urged to immediately call 911 and/or the Area 2 Special Victims Unit at 312-747-8274 should they encounter Powell or have any information that could lead to successfully locating him.
The bulletin detailing Powell’s disappearance was circulated by CPD Area 2 SVU and has been designated with a National Crime Information Center (NIC) number M25A1534. The information regarding the missing person case was released publicly through the Chicago Police Department's news portal, as part of efforts to seek assistance from the community.
