The National Weather Service's latest update on Washington D.C.'s weather forecasts increasing clouds with a touch warmer air coming our way. Temperatures are expected to climb, reaching a high near 50 degrees today with calm winds shifting south in the afternoon. Tonight, however, brings a significant likelihood of rain after 1 am, with the temperature holding steady around 40 degrees. The wind, picking up its pace, might gust as much as 20 mph, the NWS reports.
Friday's outlook doesn't look much drier; NWS has announced uncompromising rain throughout the day. A 100% chance of precipitation is anticipated, possibly laying down between a half and three-quarters of an inch of new rainfall. Gusts could hit 23 mph, making for a blustery and wet end to the workweek. Saturday promises mostly sunny skies but with a high near 48 degrees.
The respite from rain doesn’t seem long-lived, according to NWS, as there's a chance of showers returning by mid-week. Yet, Sunday offers a partly sunny reprieve with highs in the mid-40s. Looking into next week, Monday's temperatures surge to near 62 degrees before settling back into the lower 50s come Tuesday. Consistent with the season, Washingtonians will navigate a mixed bag of conditions, transitioning from partly sunny to mostly cloudy skies with another opportunity for showers rolling in on Wednesday.
