A teenager from West Roxbury is currently being held without the possibility of bail, following charges of a harrowing home invasion and armed robbery. The 15-year-old, whose identity remains shielded due to his juvenile status, is set to undergo a dangerousness hearing, as reported by the Suffolk District Attorney's Office. During the November incident, the accused, along with two other individuals, threatened a local resident with a firearm and knives before proceeding to rob him of an iPhone and various high-value clothing items.
Slated for a January 10 hearing in Dorchester Juvenile Court, the young defendant faces serious repercussions, not just for the recent allegations but also for two other open cases for which prosecutors have requested bail revocation. The judge, in this case, has deferred the decision on said revocation until after the forthcoming dangerousness hearing. A chilling account of the crime details how the perpetrators, armed and forceful, tracked their victim to a second-floor bedroom. The juvenile in question, coupled with the two at-large suspects, demanded the victim's belongings – threatening violence against both the homeowner and his crated dog.
According to the Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden, "I think anyone pondering this scenario can instantly understand the fear this victim must have felt as he endured this harrowing experience." Hayden added that he is "thankful that neither the victim or his dog were injured in this incident" and expressed gratitude for the "diligent work of Boston police detectives to identify the juvenile defendant," as noted by the Suffolk District Attorney's Office.
Boston Police were able to name the juvenile suspect after a thorough investigation that combined surveillance footage and witness accounts from the scene on Weld Street. Evidently, the stolen goods included a range of luxury footwear, totaling over $2,400 in value. To date, the hunt for the remaining suspects continues unabated. Any individuals privy to information that may assist in their apprehension are encouraged to come forward and aid in closing this alarming case that has shaken the West Roxbury community.
