
Wilsonville police are actively investigating a shooting incident that transpired on the evening of December 30, 2024, involving multiple gunshots fired near an apartment complex on 26000 block of SW Canyon Creek Road. Following the reports of gunfire at around 8 p.m., deputies arrived at the scene only to find evidence of the shooting and damaged vehicles but no sign of the individuals involved, according to the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.
Later, a woman with a gunshot wound was attended by Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue and was promptly taken to a Portland-area hospital. Her condition has not been disclosed. This woman is believed to have been injured during the event that unfolded at the apartment complex. As detectives pieced together the night's events, Brandon Edyl Arroyo, 31, of Wilsonville, emerged as the suspect connected to the incident, as per the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.
Arroyo's capture was executed through a coordinated effort by Salem Police, who apprehended him before 9:30 p.m. the same evening. Currently, he is being held at Clackamas County Jail without bail, facing multiple charges including second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, and unlawful use of a weapon, as detailed by the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.
The investigation has prompted collaboration among multiple law enforcement agencies in the area, including the Wilsonville Police Department, Sherwood Police Department, Tigard Police Department, Tualatin Police Department, Salem Police Department, and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, supported by Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue and American Medical Response. Detectives continue to seek answers to the circumstances that led to the violent encounter and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with useful information to come forward.
