A woman in Southwest Garden was the victim of a robbery conducted by an acquaintance, as reported by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. The incident occurred on Wednesday, in the vicinity of the 2900 block of S. 59th Street, around 11:45 p.m., when a 34-year-old man allegedly paid a visit to the woman's residence intending to collect a debt.
The 36-year-old woman recounted to the police that the suspect, instead of just taking the money owed to him, unlawfully appropriated additional cash and her debit card from her bedroom. During the robbery, she attempted to stop the man. However, she described how, in the confrontation, the man escalated the situation by pulling a firearm on her as she attempted to intervene, as per a statement obtained by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. Following the incident, the man fled the area in a burgundy 4-door sedan.
Fortunately, the victim did not sustain any physical injuries during the robbery. Currently, the police are actively investigating the case to piece together the events and apprehend the individual responsible for this crime.
