A 19-year-old man, Leondre Joseph, is facing charges including attempted first-degree murder after shots were fired at a West Palm Beach home, leaving behind shell casings. The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office (PBSO) responded to the scene on the evening of August 28, 2024, at a residence on Sweet Violet Court, according to CBS12.
PBSO's investigation led to the identification of a suspect vehicle, a black Toyota Camry, which was captured in neighborhood surveillance footage and later connected to Joseph. Deputies responded to the incident at 7:36 p.m. and noted the vehicle was found driving through the intersection of Sweet Violet Court and White Oleander, where several homes were damaged by gunfire, as reported by WPBF.
The investigation uncovered a text message sent by Joseph after the incident, in which he wrote, "I got in some hot s***t gang. My fault. RS. My wheels hot tho." PBSO interpreted this as an admission of guilt. When asked about his involvement, Joseph replied, "Damn right," according to CBS12.
Further evidence was found on Joseph's phone, including a search history related to weapons and ammunition. A search of his home led to the recovery of hidden ammunition in the master bedroom, linking him to the shooting. Joseph now faces three counts of shooting into a building.
Joseph is expected to appear in court to answer to the charges, and the investigation continues to uncover the details of the incident on Sweet Violet Court.
