Yesterday, early morning in Hickory Hill, a 2-year-old boy was found critically wounded by a self-inflicted gunshot. Memphis Police Department responded to an emergency call in the 6600 block of Birch Run Lane around 12:30 a.m., where they discovered the young victim, as reported by WREG.

The officers swiftly transported the juvenile to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital where he remains in critical condition. The Memphis Police Department said it appears the toddler accidentally triggered the firearm found at the scene, as outlined by Local Memphis.
