A tragic incident unfolded in Batavia Township when a 4-year-old boy, identified as Daniel Uhlenbrock, was hit by a UPS truck and later died from his injuries. The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that the accident occurred yesterday afternoon, around 4:30 p.m. on Autumnview Drive, as detailed by FOX19. The young boy was riding his wagon when the truck, making a turnaround in a cul-de-sac, began to move and struck him as he entered the road.
The Hamilton County Coroner's Office confirmed the identity of the deceased child. Soon after the accident, Uhlenbrock was flown to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, where he was unable to recover from his injuries. According to a WLWT report, the UPS driver, a 51-year-old Cincinnati resident, stayed at the scene and cooperated with the law enforcement officials conducting the investigation into the incident.
UPS released a statement in response to the heartbreaking event, expressing their condolences. "We are heartbroken by the tragic accident this afternoon in Batavia Township. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and loved ones. We are fully cooperating with authorities to understand what happened," the company said, as obtained by Local12. With respect to the ongoing probe, UPS has deferred all additional queries to the authorities.
