
Tragedy struck the streets of Fremont last Sunday when a 73-year-old resident was fatally injured in a bicycle collision. The Fremont Police Department reported the incident occurred near the intersection of Fremont Boulevard and London Common at about 4:07 p.m. Despite wearing a helmet, the bicyclist suffered serious injuries after colliding with a curb. Rescuers responded to the scene to offer medical aid, but the individual eventually succumbed to injuries on Sunday, as per the Fremont Police Department.

Running through injuries, the responding Fremont PD and Fremont Fire Department officers attempted to aid the injured party. It was quickly determined that no other parties were involved in the incident, which raises questions about the dynamics at the root of this solo bicycle collision.
Initial findings from the Traffic Investigations Unit suggest the bicyclist, who was not named, proceeded southbound along Fremont Boulevard before the unfortunate event unfolded.
