The Alameda County Sheriff's Office took to social media their search for Peggy Young, a 69-year-old black woman who has been reported missing since last Saturday. According to the Alameda County Sheriff, Peggy was last seen leaving her care facility in San Leandro at about 4:30 p.m., mentioning that she was headed to visit a friend in Oakland. Concern has particularly heightened due to her mental health diagnosis for which she requires medication, which, reportedly, she has not taken.

In their plea for public assistance, the Sheriff's Office conveyed details about Ms. Young's physical description and clothing. At 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds, Peggy has brown eyes and black hair and was last seen wearing a black and green blouse paired with black pajama pants. While Peggy does not carry a cell phone, she is known to be conversant with the public transportation system.
