Heads up, Atlanta commuters. Starting today at 9 a.m. sharp, you'll need to reroute your travels if they take you down Broad Street SW. The Atlanta Department of Transportation (ATLDOT) has announced a full closure of Broad Street SW from Mitchell Street SW to Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SW to accommodate upcoming construction activities.
Now, navigating that part of the city will be a bit different. While the detours seem straightforward, if you're traveling northeast on Broad St SW, you'll turn right onto Mitchell St SW, then left onto Peachtree St, and finally left onto Martin Luther King Jr. Dr SW.
In an effort to accommodate the southeast approach on Mitchell St SW when turning left onto Broad St SW, ATLDOT advises drivers to execute a left turn onto Peachtree St and then another left onto Martin Luther King Jr., SW.
If this latest development in Atlanta’s ever-evolving transit story has left you feeling a little turned around, reaching out to the city’s transportation authorities might help.
