Atlanta authorities are on the lookout for a pair of topless burglars after incidents in Vine City caught the attention of residents and law enforcement. Last Tuesday, two separate cases of break-ins were reported where, in a peculiar twist, the suspects conducted their illicit activities sans shirts. FOX 5 Atlanta and Atlanta News First have brought the stories to light, each detailing an incident involving a topless burglar, a man, and a woman, respectively.
According to the Atlanta Police Department, both individuals were seen on video entering an apartment along Rock Street NW. The topless woman's break-in occurred earlier on the day, while the footage of the topless man appears just before he allegedly carried out his burglary. As reported by authorities, multiple items were stolen during the crimes. Despite the availability of video evidence, the identities and current locations of the suspects continue to elude the police, thus prompting a plea for public assistance.
While the Atlanta Police Department’s Burglary Unit spearheads the investigation, they encourage anyone with information to step forward. They offer a reward of up to $2,000, for information provided to Crime Stoppers Atlanta through their tip line at (404) 577-TIPS (8477), their website at www.StopCrimeAtl.org, or by texting CSGA and the tip to CRIMES (274637). Residents are also urged to remain vigilant, lock their doors, and report any suspicious behavior.
