Atlanta is on the lookout for an armed individual following a robbery that took place late last month at a local gas station. According to the FOX 5 Atlanta report, the incident occurred on Jan. 29 around 6:51 a.m. at a gas station on Jonesboro Road SE. An employee was assaulted during the robbery by a man who concealed his face with a blue and white blanket, struck the employee with a firearm, and fled with an estimated $150.
The suspect, described as male, was last seen wearing a green shirt, blue pants, and brown shoes, carrying the cash items departed the scene. While the Atlanta Police Department has yet to determine if the thief operated alone or had accomplices, authorities continue their search for more information. Offering a reward of up to $2,000, they hope to gather leads from the public.
As the investigation unfolds, Atlanta police are analyzing surveillance footage from the 76 gas station where the crime took place and potentially from neighboring businesses as well. Atlanta News First adds that the attack left the employee with multiple injuries after sustaining several hits from the assailant's gun.
