
An employee was injured during a shooting incident at a Panda Buffet restaurant in Aurora, stirring an immediate police response. As reported by KDVR, the shooting took place on Sunday evening, around 9:30 p.m., at the Cross Wind shopping center's Panda Buffet, located in the 12000 block of East Mississippi Avenue, within the Aurora Hills neighborhood.
The Aurora Police Department has disclosed that at least one suspect was involved in the firing within the buffet situated at 12597 E Mississippi Avenue. The victim, an employee of the establishment, sustained gunfire injuries and has been transported to a hospital with serious, but reportedly non-life-threatening wounds, CBS News Colorado reports. The assailant, having executed the act, fled the scene before authorities arrived.
Law enforcement's arrival at the restaurant revealed a void left by the suspect, who managed to elude capture immediately following the shooting. Aurora police are actively searching for the individual responsible for the assault, and at this time, the relationship, if any, between the suspect and the victim remains unclear as does the motive for the altercation, as conveyed by KDVR.
The investigation is currently ongoing, and authorities are piecing together details of the event. According to Denver7, the establishment, a common spot for diners in the area, quickly turned into a crime scene. As of now, the employee is expected to recover from the incurred injuries. The Aurora police have not provided additional information on whether the suspect and victim knew each other or what specifically initiated the incident.
