Avondale is gearing up for its annual Health and Resource Fair, a community-focused event poised to connect residents with essential services and information. Scheduled for April 5, the fair will be held at the AZ Complete Health Avondale Resource Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., according to an official announcement from the city.
The event, which is free and open to the public, aims to showcase a plethora of services, including housing resources, rental and utility assistance, senior program options as well as social support structures. For families and individuals in need, information about health and nutrition and early childhood resources will be available. On top of that, there will be mobile health units present to offer services right on the spot. "This event is a great opportunity for our community members to learn about and connect with the valuable resources available to them," Chris Lopez, Neighborhood & Family Services Director, said in a statement released by the city of Avondale.
As per the city's announcement, the Health and Resource Fair will feature a range of community resources with representatives ready to engage with attendees. Groups such as Sounds of Autism, WIC, and the Maricopa County Department of Public Health are on the roster among others, consolidating a broad network of support in one accessible location. Additionally, there will be guidance offered on programs like AHCCCS and food stamps, ensuring comprehensive health and wellness information is at the fingertips of Avondale residents.
To accommodate a diverse set of needs and interests, the fair promises family-friendly entertainment too; a Teen Zone equipped with a game truck, alongside DJ entertainment, performances, and food options, will ensure that the event caters to all ages. It's not just about logging resources – the fair aims to be an enjoyable community gathering as well.
