The search for 21-year-old Isaiah Lowe reported missing since January 24, has concluded in tragedy as his body was found in a car submerged in the San Luis Rey River in Bonsall. Lowe was last seen driving his distinctively marked black Chevrolet Camaro with red stripes on January 22, his departure captured by home surveillance footage, per a San Diego County Sheriff's Office statement.
Following the report of his disappearance, deputies entered Lowe's details into the missing person database and circulated a bulletin across law enforcement agencies in Southern California. However, it was not until Lowe's mother provided deputies at the Fallbrook Sheriff's Substation with new information that a substantial lead was uncovered. She led authorities to State Route 76, where a damaged fence and car debris near the location suggested an accident might have occurred. According to the Black and Missing Foundation, Lowe's family and a private investigator were present as county divers retrieved his remains.

The recovery efforts faced postponement due to treacherous conditions and nightfall but resumed the following day, during which Lowe's vehicle, heavily obscured by the river's swell, was eventually hoisted from the water with his body inside; the California Highway Patrol and Medical Examiner's Office have been engaged to establish the precise circumstances of Lowe's death, as stated by the sheriff's department.
