During a routine traffic stop last Wednesday near Lone Tree Way and Williamson Ranch, Brentwood police apprehended a driver for more than expired registration. The stop led to an arrest that continues to highlight the efforts by local law enforcement to crack down on illegal guns in the community. According to a social media post from the City of Brentwood Police Department, Deontae Alexander, a 33-year-old resident of Antioch, was found unlicensed and illegally in possession of a loaded firearm.
Upon further investigation, the officers discovered the firearm was stolen, exacerbating Alexander's charges since, as a convicted felon, he is barred from owning or carrying firearms by law.
"This marks the officer’s fourth gun-related arrest this year," states the post by the Brentwood Police, underscoring their intent to maintain pressure on illegal firearms possession.
