The City of Brentwood Police have advanced their fight against crime, using a drone to track and arrest a DUI suspect and their wanted passenger. The Police Department detailed the chase and subsequent capture in the City of Brentwood Police Department's Facebook page, a chronicle of how the evening of January 24 unfolded into the wee hours.

The incident began at approximately 11:30 PM when two Brentwood officers attempted to stop a vehicle they suspected was operating under the influence. Rather than complying, the driver gave in to instinct and flight, propelling the officers into a pursuit that would not last long. The abandoned vehicle was later discovered on O'Hara Avenue. An officer trained in drone operations quickly deployed the drone, which swiftly located 24-year-old Julian Aria Lopez of San Jose and the passenger, 22-year-old Jesus Gonzalez of Richmond.

Aria Lopez faced charges for DUI and evading the police, while Gonzalez was held accountable for his outstanding warrant alongside related charges. Both parties ended their evening in the less desirable confines of the Martinez Detention Facility.
