A car break-in suspect led Brookhaven police on a chase through an apartment complex earlier this month, ending with the man in handcuffs and a concealed weapon being discovered. The foot pursuit, taking place on the misted grounds of the Chantilly Drive residential area in the waning hours of February 10, was captured by police-worn body cams. According to FOX5 Atlanta, officers responded to reports of a man yanking on car door handles before a brief pursuit ensued.
Upon officers' arrival, the suspect made a fleeting attempt to evade law enforcement, dashing through the complex. During the pursuit, one officer is overheard clearly stating, "I've got him. He's running." The chase concluded with the use of a Taser to subdue the suspect, as detailed by FOX5 Atlanta. Police recovered a foldable, .22 caliber pistol from the suspect's pocket, which is capable of being discreetly carried. The identity of the man and the specific charges he faces were initially withheld post-arrest, but later reports detailed the suspect's charges, which include theft from auto and firearms-related offenses.

The suspect, whose name and age have not been made public, is now facing a slew of charges, mentioned in the subsequent media release. He has been charged with attempting to commit a theft from auto, loitering and prowling, obstruction, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and criminal use of an article with an altered ID.
