The Canutillo Independent School District's Public Information Office recently racked up notable accolades at a state level, clinching a total of 15 Star Awards for their exceptional work in school public relations. These awards, which honor efforts to promote and showcase educational achievements within Texas, were announced earlier this week.

According to Canutillo ISD, the district bagged 11 Gold Star Awards, along with 3 Silver Star Awards, and not least among them, a prestigious Best in Category Award for promotional and branding work conducted during the 2023-24 school year. During the awards ceremony, while being recognized for their public relations prowess, Canutillo ISD displayed the extent of their artistic and communicative talents, despite the Gold Star Awards being the highest-rated award in each category they won.

As detailed by Canutillo ISD, the district's Director of Communications Gustavo Reveles expressed profound pride in their team's achievements. "It is an honor to tell the stories of the students and teachers of the Canutillo Independent School District, and to have those stories bring more recognition to the amazing things happening in this corner of Texas," Reveles explained. He went on to add that the quality of work produced by the Public Information Office reflected the district's high level of commitment.

In detail, the Gold Star Awards were handed out for a range of impressive works including the multimedia triumph "Officer Christopher Reporting for Duty", which splendidly won in the Feature Video Category. Other notable mentions featured "Valentine’s Day Stories of Canutillo’s enduring Love" and "Canutillo High School counselor embarks on USS Abraham Lincoln adventure", both awarded in the Published News or Feature Category – the latter significantly contributing to the district's esteemed public image. Garnering the Best in Category Award for Published News Writing for the moving "Valentine’s Day Stories of Canutillo’s enduring Love," the district has managed to outshine competitors in storytelling flair and emotional impact.

Twice lucky were works receiving Silver Stars in the Published News or Feature Category, accoladed for the forward-thinking "3D printing partnership with UTEP helps Davenport special education students" among others. Demonstrating the district's propensity for innovation in education, Silver Stars were also awarded in categories honoring artistic creativity, as seen with the fittingly named piece "Pride" in the Original Art Category, exemplifying Canutillo ISD's blend of tradition and modernity.
