A Chardon man accused of impersonating an Amazon delivery driver to commit an armed robbery was arrested last Thursday, authorities have confirmed. Steven S. Dackiewicz, 60, allegedly wore an Amazon uniform and carried a fake package to trick his way into a home on S. Linden Avenue in Alliance on December 7, 2024, before drawing a pistol and demanding money from the victims, described the Alliance Police Department in a Facebook post.
The suspect, who reportedly does not have an employment history with Amazon, was identified through a thorough investigation led by Det. After Dackiewicz was located and apprehended in Chardon, William Johnson detailed a report by The Canton Repository. Dackiewicz has a previous record for robbery offenses and had served time, his 14-year prison sentence from a string of robberies in Lake County was unsuccessfully appealed in 2007. court records reveal.
