A woman is currently hospitalized after being stabbed multiple times in an incident that took place early today in the Roselawn neighborhood of Cincinnati, FOX19 reports. The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed but is estimated to be between 40 and 50 years old, was found by Cincinnati police suffering from multiple stab wounds upon their arrival at an apartment on the 1600 block of Summit Road just after midnight.
According to the police, although the woman was conscious when they arrived, she was "not coherent," making immediate assessment and aid challenging. The incident has prompted an ongoing investigation while the victim is listed in stable condition at the hospital, police officials tell FOX19. Local12 states that a K9 unit was called in to assist in locating the assailant; however, no suspects are currently in custody, and the search has yet to yield an arrest.
The victim was transported to UC Medical Center, officials declared, and despite the gravity of her injuries, she is expected to recover, as Local12 had reported. Further details about her current medical condition have not been made public.
WLWT also covered the incident, noting that the call concerning a victim with stab wounds was registered around 12:09 a.m. today, and though the severity of the injuries has not been confirmed, and no suspect information nor arrests have been reported, the community is waiting for updates as detectives piece together the circumstances of the attack.
