Cobb County residents can anticipate heightened legislative focus and potential advancements given the recent announcement of a Senate delegation specifically for their region. State Sen. John Albers, hailing from Roswell, has spearheaded the initiative to form this delegation, structured to advocate and legislate with Cobb County's best interests at heart. Co-Chaired by Sen. Ed Setzler of Acworth, the delegation also includes prominent legislators such as Sen. Kay Kirkpatrick of Marietta, Sen. Donzella James of Atlanta, and Sen. Michael "Doc" Rhett of Marietta.
Leveraging bipartisan efforts, Sen. Albers expressed his pride in the formation of the delegation, committing to prioritize aid and assistance to first responders, according to a statement obtained by Senate Press. Having served the area previously, he firmly believes that the collaborative delegation will successfully meet the concerns and needs of Cobb County's citizens—Georgia's third most populous county, sheltering an estimated 781,000 inhabitants.
In a shared sentiment of responsibility, Sen. Setzler, currently the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Science and Technology, relayed his aims to turn Cobb County into a hub for applied research. "As the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Science and Technology, I am committed to expanding Cobb’s role as a hub for applied research," Sen. Setzler told Senate Press. There's an expectancy that this newly minted legislative cohort will not only sustain but also enhance the quality of life for which Cobb County is renowned.
Complementing these Senate efforts, a new Georgia House of Representatives delegation for Cobb County is on the horizon. Working in conjunction, both delegations aim to advocate zealously on behalf of their constituents.
