Yesterday, at the Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting in Collierville, town engineers were recognized. Mayor Maureen Fraser took a moment to honor them during National Engineers Week (EWeek), which has been celebrated since 1951. This year’s theme, Engineering for a Sustainable Future, highlights the importance of engineering for environmental and infrastructural sustainability.
According to the Town of Collierville release, Mayor Fraser stated, “The work of engineers is often behind the scenes, but its impact is everywhere—on our roads, our water systems, and the very infrastructure that keeps our town running smoothly.”
Town Engineer Dale Perryman received the proclamation from Mayor Fraser, recognizing the department’s ongoing efforts to strengthen Collierville.
Officials encouraged Collierville residents to observe Engineers Week by recognizing the critical role engineers play in shaping daily life. The goal is to foster greater appreciation for the work engineers do in building and maintaining the town's infrastructure.
