
An officer-involved shooting that left one man dead this morning is under active investigation by the Concord Police Department. The incident occurred in the 1900 block of Natoma Drive where, around 1:40 am, officers responded to a 911 call about a person attacking a family member with a knife, as per the Concord Police Department.
Upon arrival, the police discovered an adult male in the midst of stabbing a family member, which led to an officer shooting and killing the assailant at the scene. The man armed with the knife was declared dead at the site while the family member victim was rushed to a local hospital and expected to survive. The area is currently cordoned off as investigators are on the scene gathering evidence and working through the details of this family tragedy turned fatal police encounter. Concord Police have requested the community to maintain a distance from the investigation site for the time being.
