Federal immigration officials reported the arrest of an undocumented immigrant in Cincinnati, Ohio, who was previously convicted of sex crimes. The individual, identified as Ciro Teodoro-Rivera of Mexico, was taken into ICE custody on Monday, according to an announcement by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
In a recent law enforcement action that underscores the ongoing efforts to target individuals with criminal convictions, ICE agents apprehended Teodoro-Rivera, whose record includes a conviction for sexual imposition and aggravated assault. “The arrest and removal of illegal alien sex offenders remains a top priority for our agency,” was what ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Detroit Field Office Director Robert Lynch stated through the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement official website, “Our communities should not be a safe haven for these bad actors.”
The agency has emphasized that public safety is foremost in its mission, encouraging residents to be vigilant and report suspected immigration crimes or activities. Those reports can be made by contacting the ICE Tip Line at 866-DHS-2-ICE (866-347-2423) or filling out the online tip form.
Teodoro-Rivera is currently detained and awaiting his removal proceedings.
