Mark Trowbridge, known as 'Mister Coral Gables,' passed away at the age of 56 on Friday last week due to heart complications after surviving multiple myeloma. He was the President and CEO of the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce, where he led a 40% growth in revenue and was recognized for his ability to connect people and elevate the Chamber's influence.

Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava expressed her condolences on her official X account, saying, "I am sorry to hear of the passing of Mark Trowbridge, President of the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce. My heart goes out to all those around the County who were blessed by his fun and loving presence. His legacy will live on with all the businesses and nonprofits he uplifted."

Trowbridge's contributions to Coral Gables extended beyond his leadership role at the Chamber. He played a key role in bringing Ryder, a major transportation company, to Coral Gables and organized events like Burgerliscious and Small Business Saturday. According to the Miami Herald, Sara Hernandez, Trowbridge's colleague and friend, said his guidance helped her become Chair of the Coral Gables Chamber.

Trowbridge was also involved in various other endeavors, including sports and academics. He was an active participant in sporting events and Super Bowl LIV in 2020 and served as an adjunct professor in Sports Management.

In tribute, Coral Gables City Hall will be lit in burgundy starting today for a week to raise awareness for multiple myeloma, as requested by Commissioner Ariel Fernandez. Donations in his honor can be made to organizations such as the New World School of the Arts and The Children's Trust. His funeral arrangements are still pending, and he is survived by his mother, sibling, and extended family.
