
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has taken Kyle Gilbert, 19, into custody following a fatal shooting in Cuthbert, GA that claimed the life of 16-year-old Tyrae Campbell. Authorities charged Gilbert with two counts of reckless conduct and one felony count of involuntary manslaughter, according to a statement released by the GBI.
On Sunday, officers responded to a call about a shooting on Morgan Street. There, they discovered Campbell suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency personnel declared him dead at the scene. Following this, the GBI was called upon to assist in the investigation. Gilbert, a Cuthbert local, now faces serious legal repercussions while the community reels from the young man's untimely death.
The GBI has transported Campbell's body to their Macon Crime Lab, where an autopsy is set to be performed to determine the official cause of death.
