The Doraville Police Department recently conducted a search at Kim’s Acupuncture, also known as Kim’s Oriental Medicine Clinic, following accusations of multiple sexual assaults by the business owner. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, Dr. Meu Kim, a 70-year-old acupuncturist, was arrested in connection with these allegations. The police are actively seeking more information.
Doraville authorities, who began investigating after the first complaint in April and a subsequent report in December, believe more victims may come forward, as detailed by FOX 5 Atlanta. Assistant Chief of Doraville Police B.C. Harris noted that the two separate individuals reporting similar stories months apart suggests more potential victims. Kim, who has practiced acupuncture at the Buford Highway location for over 15 years, has raised concerns among local business associates.
Kim currently faces five counts of sexual battery and one count of aggravated assault county, according to 11Alive News. After his initial arrest, he was released from DeKalb County Jail on bond.
In response to these allegations, the Doraville Police are urging the community to come forward with additional information. Assistant Chief Harris said, "Every victim that we have just makes the case stronger. And so we need their help to ensure that he doesn't ever do this again," in a statement obtained by FOX 5 Atlanta. Authorities encourage anyone with relevant information or similar experiences to reach out, with the option for anonymous reporting.
