On a typical day gone awry, January 26th saw Cherish Hood and her children facing imminent danger as a car charged recklessly toward them while they left a Highlands Ranch grocery store. According to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Deputy Connor Lacey and Field Training Officer Trent Hoffman were quick to respond, pulling their patrol vehicle in front of the speeding suspect, effectively preventing a near tragedy.
The deputies demonstrated exceptional calmness under pressure, a trait that no doubt comes with the territory for officers trained to safeguard civilians. Sheriff Tony Weekly commended the deputies for their bravery, as per Douglas County Sheriff's Office, "It’s a proud moment for me to recognize these gentlemen who do this every single day.
