
Gabby Whatley from Douglasville Parks & Recreation has recently received recognition for her outstanding work in the community. According to a release from Douglasville’s official website, Whatley has been named a Next Gen Leader by the National Afterschool Association (NAA) and has also earned her CPRP certification.
Her CPRP certification, awarded by the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), highlights her expertise and commitment to the field of parks and recreation.
In addition to her certification, Whatley’s selection as a Next Gen Leader by the NAA places her among 28 young professionals under the age of 30 recognized for their dedication to afterschool leadership. She was chosen from over 100 nominations. Whatley will be honored at the NAA’s 2025 Convention in Nashville this March and will also be featured in AfterSchool Today magazine.
The upcoming feature in AfterSchool Today will focus on Whatley’s career and contributions. A digital edition of the magazine will be available starting in March.
