
A car plunged into a canal in Glendale yesterday evening after striking a bicyclist, as reported by Phoenix Police. The incident, which occurred near 75th Avenue and Camelback Road around 8 p.m., led to both the driver and the injured cyclist being transported to the hospital. According to 12 News, the driver was able to get out of the vehicle before police arrived on the scene.
Authorities have not yet released details on the condition of the cyclist or the driver. A statement obtained by FOX 10 Phoenix revealed that the submerged car's roof was just barely visible, poking out of the water at the crash site.
Rescue operations were swiftly initiated after the incident was reported, with the focus initially on ensuring the driver and cyclist were both alive. Emergency services successfully moved to quickly attend to the victims and secure the area, preventing further incidents.
