El Paso police have apprehended a man after a disturbing attack on two dogs last month. According to the El Paso Police Department, on January 28, a man identified as Gonzalez visited a home and got into a confrontation with two pitbull dogs named Scooby and Blue. After the initial encounter, Gonzalez retreated from the home.
The incident escalated the following day when Gonzalez returned to the residence. He allegedly went into the backyard and, upon being approached by Scooby and Blue, began to swing a machete at them, striking the animals multiple times. The assault inflicted injuries on the dogs before Gonzalez fled from the scene. This brutal act ultimately did not go unpunished. Gonzalez was arrested on Friday and now faces charges for his alleged actions against the pets.
News of this violence has justly upset the community, with pet owners and advocates alike expressing concern for the safety and well-being of animals in the area. The El Paso Police emphasize the seriousness of such incidents and the implications they hold for societal attitudes toward animal cruelty.
