During a routine patrol in El Paso on Sunday, a traffic stop led to three arrests after police noticed a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu with improperly secured passengers. According to the El Paso Police Department, the front and rear passengers in the vehicle were not wearing seatbelts, prompting officers to initiate the stop at around 2:46 p.m. on Buffalo Soldier.
Upon further investigation, the driver, identified only as Cordova in the police report, was found in possession of cocaine. As a result of this discovery, Cordova was taken into custody. The front and rear passengers, who had initially attracted police attention for their lack of seatbelts, were also arrested.
The situation escalated when one of the passengers, known as Holladay, was later found to be carrying methamphetamine while being processed at the El Paso County Detention Facility. This led to additional charges, with Holladay facing possession of a controlled substance and prohibited substance in a correctional facility.
