An elderly Orlando woman is fighting for her life after a home invasion left her critically injured. The suspect, arrested in connection with the brutal attack, was found just a few miles from the scene, reported ClickOrlando.
Police received a call around 1:45 p.m. last Friday from the woman's husband, who discovered his wife within their vehicle, severely battered and using the horn to signal for help. Upon arriving at the Caribbean Court residence, officers learned that an assailant had forced entry and attacked the elderly homeowner. Subsequently, the victim was transported to the hospital, where she remains in critical condition, WESH reported.
Ronald D. Davis, 55, was arrested after being found asleep inside a shed on a nearby residential property. Before the incident, Davis had been out of prison since June 2024, having served a 15-year sentence for burglary with assault and battery, alongside robbery charges. He now faces new charges that include home invasion, robbery with a weapon, and aggravated battery with a weapon, as well as aggravated battery on a person over 65 with great bodily harm, according to police statements.
The investigation into the circumstances of the home invasion is ongoing. As the case develops, further details are expected to be released.
