
An 83-year-old woman was struck and later succumbed to her injuries in Santa Clara on Friday evening, as reported by the Santa Clara-Ivins Public Safety Department. The incident took place near the intersection of Pioneer Parkway and Jacob Drive around 6:50 p.m. last night. According to KUTV, emergency responders transported the victim to St. George Regional Hospital following the collision.
At the scene, the authorities discovered the elderly woman after being hit while she was in the intersection, as FOX 13 reported. The driver involved in the collision is said to be cooperating with the investigation by the Santa Clara-Ivins Police Department and the Washington County Metro Accident Reconstruction Team, attempting to untangle the cause of the tragic event.
The victim's identity has yet to be released as police have only informed the next of kin. There have been no further details regarding any legal action against the driver, who remained at the scene and has been noted for their cooperation by authorities. Investigations are ongoing to clarify the circumstances of the accident.
