New Madrid County drivers should be aware of traffic delays on Route 62. The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced that shoulder repairs will begin, leading to a lane reduction on this route.
The affected area runs from Route W to Route 153. Weather permitting, crews will be conducting repairs from Thursday through Feb. 21, with work taking place daily from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., unless impacted by weather conditions.
Drivers who regularly use this section of Route 62 should plan their commutes accordingly. The work zone will be marked with signs to direct motorists, and delays may increase travel times. MoDOT is advising drivers to proceed with "extreme caution" around the construction area due to the potential hazards of traffic merging into a single lane.
